Jaclyn & Jordan’s Rooftop Wedding at Lacuna Lofts, Chicago

Jaclyn and Jordan's wedding at Lacuna Lofts was the perfect mix of modern city energy and rich tradition. In the heart of Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood, their day had it all: rooftop views of the skyline, meaningful Jewish traditions, and a dance floor that didn't quit until midnight.

What made the day even more special? Jaclyn missed her own white coat ceremony to be here, so this was a wedding day and a major life milestone wrapped into one. Both she and Jordan are doctors, and the way they balanced joy, reverence and celebration was nothing short of inspiring.

So many of the couples I photograph are in medicine, law or engineering: people who have poured everything into their careers and are now making room to celebrate something just as significant, their relationship.

A Quiet First Look at Lacuna Lofts

Jaclyn and Jordan kept the morning simple and leaned into what mattered most to them. We started with a quiet first look in front of Lacuna's colorful "I Love You" wall, then moved into portraits and family photos throughout the lofts' eclectic, art-filled spaces.

Golden Hour on the Lacuna Lofts Rooftop

Then came the rooftop SkyDeck: golden hour, champagne in hand, and the Chicago skyline glowing behind them.

A Jewish Wedding Ceremony Under the Chuppah

Their ceremony was deeply personal, with a beautiful ketubah signing, meaningful blessings, and a heartfelt exchange under a chuppah covered in red roses, with the whole city as the backdrop.

A Reception Worth Staying For

The reception was a full-on celebration. Rush Street Rhythm brought the energy, the hora brought the joy (and the chair lifts!), and Jaclyn's brother even got a surprise birthday cake. Since Jaclyn had missed her white coat ceremony, she got her white coat right there at the reception, surrounded by family and friends.

No formal exit. No fuss. Just love, laughter, tradition and a city that means everything to them.

Planning a Jewish Wedding in Chicago?

If you're planning a Jewish wedding in Chicago, or you're a med student, resident or professional planning something meaningful around a packed schedule, I get it. Whether it's a city rooftop or generations of tradition, I'd love to help you tell your story in a way that feels honest, romantic and real.
